Christians man in online therapy

Are you a Christian who is struggling with your mental and emotional wellbeing? Could you benefit from online therapy offered from a faith-based perspective?

Do you struggle with any of the following:

  • General Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Social anxiety
  • Panic
  • Health anxiety
  • OCD
  • Trauma

Is so, we may be able to help. We understand what you are going through and where you are coming from. t

What do you offer?

We offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from a faith-based perspective. We understand where you are coming from and what you are going through.

We follow effective evidenced-based CBT protocols while keeping to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.

Why CBT in particular?

We believe that Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective therapeutic technique that gives us practical ways to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Interestingly, a lot of the modern techniques we use can actually be evidenced in, and supported by, Scripture.

CBT stands out as an effective evidence-based approach to psychotherapy, offering numerous advantages. The NACBT points out that:

  • CBT equips clients with self-counselling skills, enabling them to manage their thoughts and emotions independently over time.
  • It offers short-term treatment with a focus on long-term improvement.
  • It is versatile and can be applied effectively across different cultural contexts. It emphasizes the client's goals rather than those of the therapist.
  • Sessions are organised to ensure therapeutic progress, minimizing unproductive discussions.
  • It is research-oriented, utilising tools and techniques that are supported by rigorous scientific evaluation and validation.
  • It is adaptable: CBT's core belief is that thoughts drive emotions and behaviours, providing a framework to address diverse challenges.
  • These advantages not only enhance its effectiveness but also make CBT an accessible and robust option for many individuals.

 How long do sessions last?

Most sessions are approximately one hour in length.

How many session will I need?

Each person and presentation is unique, so the length of therapy is determined on a case-by-case basis. However, we tend to find that the average length of therapy is around 12-16 sessions.

How much do sessions cost?

The initial consultation is free. All subsequent sessions are charged at £55 per session.

How is therapy offered?

Therapy takes place online via a secure video link.

How will I know if therapy is right for me?

You can sign up for a free initial consultation where we will be happy to answer any questions you have and to determine whether CBT would be the right fit for you.

If it is determined that our approach would not be the best fit, we will be happy to signpost you to other places that may be able to help.

When would my sessions take place?

When you meet with you therapist, you will be able to decide a time that works for both of you. Each session will be booked in advance, so you will know exactly when your session is due to take place. A session link will be sent to you before the session, giving you confidential online access to the session via a video link.

Can a I cancel a session?

Yes, you can. We do ask for at least 24 hours’ notice beforehand. Late cancellations may still incur a charge.

What can I expect in a typical session?

You can expect to be supported in an empathetic, non-judgmental way. You will find that therapy is a very collaborative approach. Your therapist will check in to see how you are feeling, and then you will complete some questionnaires together to explore this in a bit more depth. After this, you will set a session agenda together, taking your current circumstances and situations into account. Based on the protocol you are following, your therapist will also suggest some tried-and-tested tools and techniques to help move things forward for you. At the end of the session, you will summarise what you have covered before setting some between-session tasks together to help you implement what you are learning during the week, and then you will set the time for the next session together. Your therapist will also ask for some feedback on how you found the session and explore anything you would like to do differently going forward.
